Let's Face It...

Bathroom Ventilation Is Costing You More Than You Think

Guessing the Specification

Choosing a fan by price or size ignores duct length, bends and resistance. Poor extraction can lead to condensation, mould complaints and unpaid callbacks.

Giving Away Your Margin

Automatically handing the entire ventilation job to another trade means losing margin, splitting schedules and giving up control of the finished bathroom project.

Underquoting the Full Job

Pricing only the fan overlooks ducting, controls, outlets and labour. Unexpected extras can quickly reduce your margin and turn what should have been a profitable job into a loss.

Master at Bathroom Ventilation

Course Curriculum

Investigate Before You Specify

  • Understand the problem: Identify what the customer is experiencing, how the bathroom is used and where the moisture is coming from.

  • Inspect the complete pathway: Check the fan, ducting, external termination, replacement air, controls and electrical supply before suggesting anything.

  • Record what matters: Use the survey process to collect the photographs, measurements and information needed to plan the job confidently.

  • Assess existing installations: Investigate wall, ceiling and inline systems to determine what can be cleaned, corrected, upgraded or retained.

  • Use alternatives only when needed: Understand when the property requires a ceiling, inline, soffit, roof or alternative external discharge route.

Course Feature

Compare and Select With Confidence

  • Understand the complete system: See how duct size, length, bends, insulation, terminals, fan type and controls work together.

  • Compare fans objectively: Evaluate airflow, pressure, noise, power consumption, IP rating, controls and installation limitations using practical comparison cards.

  • Match the solution to the job: Select suitable products for the property, installation route, customer priorities and problem being solved.

Course Feature

Price, Deliver and Grow the Service

  • Price the complete installation: Account for labour, materials, access, ducting, controls and qualified electrical work where required.

My name is Ted Valentinas, and through my work in the UK ventilation industry, I’ve spent years helping homeowners and tradespeople make sense of bathroom ventilation.

I’ve worked with products from many of the leading ventilation manufacturers and supported bathroom fitters, builders, electricians, plumbers and property professionals facing the same recurring problems: condensation that returns, noisy fans, unsuitable products, poor ducting and jobs that cost more than expected.

Working around real technical enquiries, product comparisons and customer problems has taught me one important lesson: successful bathroom ventilation is not about automatically choosing the most powerful, expensive or familiar fan. It is about investigating the complete ventilation pathway and selecting the simplest suitable solution for that property.

That is why I created Master at Bathroom Ventilation—to bring information normally scattered across regulations, product instructions and technical conversations into one clear, practical process that tradespeople can follow.

You do not need to become a ventilation engineer or carry products from every manufacturer. You need to know what to inspect, which questions to ask, how to compare suitable options and when qualified electrical input is required.

I won’t promise that one course can replace experience, electrical competence or professional judgement. What I can give you is a structured starting point, practical examples and working tools to help you investigate properly, quote the complete job and deliver bathroom ventilation with greater confidence.

What Types of Tradespeople Is It For?

  • Tilers and plumbers

  • Handymen and property-maintenance teams

  • Electricians wanting stronger ventilation knowledge

  • Tradespeople working with landlords and letting agents

Frequently Asked Questions

What experience level is this course designed for?

This course is designed for working bathroom fitters, builders, plumbers, tilers, electricians and property-maintenance professionals who already have practical site experience. You do not need to be a ventilation specialist, but the training is not intended as introductory DIY instruction for complete beginners.

Do I need to be a qualified electrician?

No. The course teaches you how to investigate the bathroom, understand the complete ventilation pathway, compare suitable solutions and quote the complete job. It does not provide an electrical qualification or authorise you to undertake work outside your competence. A qualified electrician should be used wherever the electrical work requires one.

When does the course start, and how long will I have access?

Founding-member access begins as the first training is released, with the complete course developed using feedback from early members. The core training is designed to be completed in one focused day, but you can work through it at your own pace and return to the lessons, handbook and practical resources whenever you need them.

Can’t I learn bathroom ventilation on YouTube?

You can find individual fan-installation and product videos online, but the information is scattered and rarely explains the complete job. This course brings investigation, installation routes, ducting, controls, product comparison, pricing, commissioning and handover together into one structured, UK-focused process.

Do I need to purchase particular fans or specialist equipment?

No. The course is designed to help you assess the property and compare suitable products rather than lock you into one manufacturer. Examples from different ventilation brands will be used to explain the principles. Basic measuring and inspection tools will be useful, and the course will show you what information should be recorded on site.
